On February 24, the KAUST Imaging and Characterization Core Lab hosted a workshop featuring the latest materials science microscopy technology from Olympus. The event enabled more than 80 researchers from KAUST and other Saudi institutions to learn about materials science microscopes and get hands-on experience and training in these new technologies.
Olympus collaborated with KAUST to host the event with the aim of educating the region’s scientists about the latest materials science microscopy technology. Researchers had the opportunity to conduct in-situ testing and nano materials imaging with the LEXT OLS4100 laser scanning confocal digital microscope, capture and analyze images with DSX and Olympus Stream, learn about analytical instrumentation, and conduct trial experiments with instrument specialists in hands-on sessions.
The Core Labs couple cutting-edge technology with leading scientists to aid researchers in their experiments. As such, we are constantly upgrading our scientific knowledge base, instrumentation and method development. This workshop gave researchers an opportunity to explore the latest materials science microscopy technologies, giving them a different perspective for their research techniques.
