The Core Labs and Research Infrastructure’s Steering Committees have been established to review and regulate best practices across eight KAUST Core Labs. The focal mandate of the committees is to ensure efficient and fair usage of lab resources, to monitor lab performance, and to promote continuous improvements.
Each committee consists of three KAUST faculty members, all users of the relevant lab, who serve a two-year term. These members are appointed by the KAUST vice president for research in consultation with the executive director of the Core Labs and Research Infrastructure. The director of the specific lab and an appointed core lab staff member also hold positions.
As the committees represent both the users and operators of the labs, they are perfectly positioned to incorporate the needs of both within their mandate.
