The Bioscience Core Lab specializes in genomics, proteomics, FACS and high-throughput screening using state-of-the-art equipment and analysis. The lab enables researchers and industry partners to conduct next-generation genetic analysis and synthesis of cellular materials as well as protein identification and characterization.
The Bioscience Core Lab is focused on genetic and proteomic research. It includes facilities for next-generation and third-generation sequencing, as well as cell sorting and high-throughput screening.

We are always looking to add to our dynamic team
Our third-generation sequencing facility uses unique PacBio technology which allows for production of long DNA sequencing reads. This technology is optimal for genome assemblies, genomic structural variations, allele-specificities and long-amplicon sequencing amongst others.
The next-generation sequencing facility provides access to a range of high-throughput platforms for studying biological systems. The facility includes Illumina sequencing platforms supporting different sizes of genomics research projects.
The proteomics facility is equipped with various sample preparation and separation technologies, mass spectrometry platforms and data analysis software.
The facility provides services for molecular cloning, recombinant protein expression, purification and characterization of proteins. The lab maintains collections of bacterial expression systems, and is equipped with instruments for purification of recombinant protein.
The cell sorting facility provides training, instrumentation, technical expertise and software for data analysis. It is also equipped with a instruments that enable high-content live cell screening and imaging.
The mammalian cell culture facility is equipped with a Class II biological safety cabinet, two CO2 incubators, a centrifuge, microscope, -20˚C freezer and 4˚C refrigerator. It is assigned and maintained at Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) working area.
